Solid Architectural Experience
What makes House Calls Renovation Advisors exceptional is the combined knowledge and experience in all aspects of both commercial and residential projects.
After graduating from UBC, Jay worked with Bregman and Hamann Architects for several years, and then with CN Real Estate (now Canada Lands Corp.) on the CN Tower redevelopment, the SkyDome (now Rogers Centre) and the SkyWalk Galleria. Over a six year period, Jay managed Scotiabank‘s Caribbean portfolio, delivering about 100 branch projects.
Acting as Manager of Construction Services for Great West Life Realty Advisors at Commerce Court, Toronto, Jay was responsible for a wide range of capital projects. Works included historical restoration, resolution of base-building structural issues, and improvement to retail and tenant environments. For ING Direct Canada (now Tangerine Bank) Jay led the project team to deliver the Downtown Cafe in Toronto.
During his corporate working career, Jay had heard many disturbing stories about frustrated homeowners who were abused by unscrupulous or poorly performing contractors. Seeing there was no strong advocate for these trusting and naïve owners, Jay decided to create House Calls Renovation Advisors to address this at a professional level.
House Calls was originally designed to address and resolve many of the construction related problems that plague home owners, who often still feel they have little recourse other than engaging expensive and time consuming legal avenues. Since inception, House Calls Renovation Advisors has expanded its’ residential services to include space planning, design, contract administration and project management.
